Exceptional cottage in Bouge

Get to know…

What a joy to welcome you to this place that we waited, thought about, thought about for 28 years when we acquired this property hidden in the heart of the city of Namur in 1996.

As newlyweds, we had the chance to discover this blue stone farm built more than 100 years ago which housed a family and horses. When we acquired this property, Freddy and Marie-Louise resided in this small bungalow and accompanied us throughout our journey and the numerous comings and goings of family and friends as the life flowing. Freddy and Marie-Louise occupied this place with kindness until their last breath.

In 2021, we were able to acquire this small single storey and begin to imagine the tourist house project that was so close to our hearts.

This was followed by the creation of the plans on paper in collaboration with the AATJ architectural workshop in Boninne and the start-up of all the trades under the direction of our architect and friend Christophe Joassin.

In an ecological approach to reuse, the layout of the premises was thought out in partnership with Mr Stephane Pignolet, antique dealer and art dealer in Namur, with an art gallery “Galerie Pignolet” in 5000 Namur, Chaussée de Waterloo 53 ( gsm: 0498 295815; galeriepignolet.com), driven by an artistic approach and a desire to rediscover furniture by renowned designers and artists from the 70s and 80s.

A warm, comfortable and luxurious atmosphere is characterized through this dining room composed of a black lacquered wood table and chrome steel base by Willy Rizzo produced by Cidue, a series of chairs with a pronounced graphic design, as well as a “Spring Waterfall” pendant light in chrome steel, all with a characteristic Italian spirit and design.

An “Onda” living room set by Urbino & Lonnazi published by Zanotta, a coffee table with twisted legs by Roger Sprunger produced by Dunbar, a series “The Munich Spiral” by Victor Vasarely, a “nude” painting by Michaël Doré and a few works on deposit available for sale on request (information and contact: Stéphane Pignolet)

Re-staging these magnificent objects, we invite you to enjoy your stay while awakening your emotional and artistic curiosity.

At the same time and at the same time, our family was fortunate to be able to reinvest land in the La Roche region in Brabant.

After much discussion, the decision was made to plant 5 hectares of vines (Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc and noir) in order to realize the crazy challenge of creating a Belgian sparkling wine.

Three hectares of vines were planted in 2020 then 2 additional hectares in partnership with Mr Jean-François Baele, owner with his wife of Domaine du Ry d'Argent in Saint-Denis Bovesse. This crazy bet was able to see the light of day thanks to the expertise and know-how of Mr Baele, several times rewarded and medalist for his sparkling wines (best Belgian wine competition, Brussels world competition) such as “Le rosé d'Audrey », “the “Lisy” Grande Réserve traditional method vintage, “the Nell cuvee” but also its still white wines such as “Brin de Paille”, the “Selection Parcellaire”, and its red wine “La Selection du Vigneron”. A tasting at the estate is organized every first Friday of the month from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Domaine du Ry d'Argent, rue de la Distillerie 51 in 5081 LA BRUYERE (081/566545) (domainedurydargent.com)

The first harvests were able to take place in September 2022 with a first harvest which will yield the first 800 bottles. This initial vintage will be ready for tasting at the end of 2024.

The second harvests carried out in September 2023 gave many more grapes and the possibility of producing almost 5,000 bottles.
